Give us a smile

Give us a smile

They say that smiling is infectious
To be honest, I’m not quite sure
Those I’ve tried to contaminate
Must have found a miracle cure.

Perhaps they caught the January blues
Brought on by overspending
Always listen to your purse
You can’t afford, no use pretending.

You could be having a conversation
But that little voice is telling you ‘No’
Stand up and override it
Smile and say hello.

A form of conversation
When languages are not understood
Smile and the world smiles with you
Doesn’t that feel good.

Maybe you started your new diet
Had a bad day, and just gave in
Don’t worry just do lots of smiling
To exercise your cheeks and your chin.

Perhaps you’re missing the sunshine
The cold weather is getting you down
Make your day become a lot brighter
Wear a smile instead of a frown.

I admit it can be embarrassing
When you’re caught wearing only your smile
Don’t worry they’re no different than you are
And your look won’t go out of style.

I’m not saying that smiling is painless
In fact your jaw will ache for a while
Help spread a worthwhile infection
Come on just give us a smile.
