IT support at home please
Watch this postI desperately need a call-out to fix my computer problem. Trying to reinstall my printer, it freezes at the last hurdle. I can't take anymore advice online, I've tried ALL of it. I'm 72 and have M.E. so my energy is limited both physically & mentally. I live in West London, Chiswick. Willing to pay but quoted £60 an hour, beyond my means. Know who to contact anyone? Can't use the phone due to deafness, email only. Losing the will to live, lol! Thanks.😃

I had the same problem with my canon usb printer. I searched for "new driver for canon model xxxx printer for windows 10 os. That led me to the canon web site which did fix my problem.
I am a retired software engineer so I do have experience. I would help more but I live in the southeastern part of the US.
I.E. What do you consider good virus protection ?
How do you down load photo's to take advantage of obtaining free prints
.
It follows there are also probably other tasks and uses but you can't do what you don't know about.
Maybe Silver Surfers could issues a numpty's guide to computing.
- Uninstall all the printer software currently installed.
- Download the latest printer driver software from the manufacturer's website
- Make sure you get software that matches your OS
- Make sure the printer plugged in by a USB cable.
- If it's wireless you can switch to wireless later after you get it working.
- Follow the instructions on installing the software and printer that come with the download.
- Try printing a test page
If it still doesn't work, new printers are so inexpensive these days that you can get a whole new one for less than the cost of a service call. Good luck. Hope this helps.
Website people, get your act together and stop this sort of thing wasting everyone's time!!!
Any problems or queries have been dealt with very quickly when making a call to ask for
assistance. If you are not computer literate a 'care plan' is highly recommended.
By the way. have you cleared down all reference to the printer before you have tried to reinstall the connection from your pc to your printer?
