A costly roll
A costly roll
I’m the one that buys it
Has to put it away as well
Now the roll is empty
I’m going to have to yell.
I call but there’s no answer
They’re all in the front room
I know they’ll want me shortly
As it’s teatime very soon.
Do as everyone else does
Relax and take your time
Don’t have a daily paper
But I have plenty on my mind.
The whole house needs reawakening
Paint and carpet too
The furniture is looking tired
Time to have some new.
The bathroom door it opens slightly
The dog comes in and wags his tail
Sits and holds his paw up
And then begins to wail.
Waited for a little longer
But alas to no avail!
So I redesigned the garden
Approved with a waggy tail.
Then as if my husband saw the pound signs
On the bank statement, with dreaded fear
He ran up the stairs very quickly
All the way up, in a very high gear.
It was me, I used the last piece
Meant to replace it, then I forgot
That look on your face, says it’s cost me
Not a little, I guess quite a lot.
