The monster of the moors
The monster of the moors
I was a child when evil walked.
He with his partner killed and stalked.
I remember well the parents tears,
when they faced up to their worse fears.
They tortured, raped and took great pleasure,
they watched the suffering at their leisure.
I cannot bring myself to cry,
He was the one who deserved to die.
I never will repeat his name.
He tried to wriggle out of blame.
He tortured parents from his jail.
He laughed at them, the old and frail.
I hope he gets his judgement day.
I pray those children get a say.
I hope he’s lost for eternity,
and lets those precious young souls free.
I hope in time they will find Keith,
The moors release what lies beneath.
and Pauline, Lesley Ann and John,
we won’t forget though time moves on.
The dark has gone, follow the light.
Look to your children, hold them tight.
The world shakes off the evil scum,
as hell calls out with beating drum.
Let sunshine back inside your hearts,
welcome it in as pain departs.
As shadows clear across the moor,
at last it seems death has the cure.
