Scrumping
Scrumping
Sneaky in the orchard, climbing up the tree,
Please don’t let the owner catch a glimpse of me,
Searching in the twilight, looking everywhere,
Spying for a juicy apple or a pear.
Picky very quickly, mates lookout below,
Just two each will do us, then swiftly we will go,
Only take the sweetest, find them at the top,
Be careful not to break a branch, do not let them drop.
Crickey! He has seen us, got to get away,
Race him to the gap now, to ‘scrump’ another day,
Stuff some up your jumper and run off down the lane,
We’ll wait till he goes back inside then go for them again.
Very jelly belly now what do we do?
Ate to many apples, the reason’s showing through,
Squeezy cheeks together, try to keep it in,
Paying for our greed now, paying for our sin!
