Back in ‘My day!’
Back in’My day!’
When I ‘Fell on me bum’, I didn’t sue anyone,
I just carried on playing outside,
And when I did it again, I didn’t, ‘Put in a claim’,
I just got a dent in my pride.
If I took the skin off me knee, it would cause misery,
But no greasy lawyer I’d call,
And when I climbed a tree, there was no cushion for me,
If I fell, I just suffered the fall.
When I had a fight, It wasn’t through spite,
It was ‘lad against lad’, one on one,
And with each blackened eye, it was never, ‘Goodbye’,
You were still pals, – no matter who won.
You see, – back in ‘My day’, we just learned the ‘hard way’,
Only life, and it’s living would do,
It was part of the plan, to turn me to a man,
Not to look round for someone to sue!
