A New Year Beckons

As the Old Year left with its lessons, joys and loss of loved ones,
The New Year is now here now that it has gone.
Hope is the key we must all hold onto throughout life
As, at times, it’s hard to travel through darkness and combat strife.

The World at the moment is a troubled place until wars cease
And each individual can only play their part and pray for peace.
It will be through the decisions of chosen leaders to guide us through
The maze of various choices, carrying the hopes of their people as they do.

Perhaps we can all make a new start and think of our actions to others,
Even strangers we meet, not just friends and family who may need loves cover?
We are all lucky enough to live in this beautiful world and help make things right
But we all need to join together to help make the light of hope shine bright!
