Follow your dream
Pat Noon shares with us her memories of making the school netball team! She followed her dream ….
Follow your dream
At 9 years old
My only dream
Was to play for my school
In the netball team.
I’d chosen my position
Goal shooter for me
My chosen position
Is what I would be.
Then my day came
Shoot from there
Give it ago
Go on if you dare.
It rolled round the rim
A couple of times
Then went through the net
It felt divine.
My dad made me a post
To practice at home
Every spare minute
I’d practice alone.
Your in the team
You need white shorts and shirt
White coloured plimsolls
That always showed the dirt.
But every match
Those plimsolls were pure white
Clean with pump whitener and sponge
Then dry overnight.
Couldn’t believe it
We won every game
A trophy to show
St James the name.
So follow your dreams
Take your chance, when it’s time
Then your dreams will come true
Just like mine.
