Always and Ever
Always and Ever
Always a sweetie for her ‘little lad’,
Never a scolding, when things I did bad,
Just fair gentle guidance did she give to me.
(And a scone from the kitchen, that mam didn’t see!)
Always a cuddle, a loving embrace,
Never a judgmental look on her face,
Just a patient acceptance that I am who I am.
(And a crust with a smearing of strawberry jam!)
Always a patience, ever the smile,
To make me, – as a lad – want to linger a while,
To dwell on her wisdom, and to do what I can!
ALWAYS! – MY ANGEL! – EVER! – MY NAN!
Love you Nan.
