Appointment

As a visually impaired person I thought it would be interesting to write a poem on a visit to the hospital! As I get older I seem to spend more and more time there, smiles.

Appointment

Baby screams
Old man dreams
Woman on a phone
Nurse calls names
Kids play games
Wish I was back home

Clicking heels
Buggy wheels
Trolleys trundling past
Voices loud
Endless crowds
My name called at last

Upright chair
Time to share
Eyes well up with tears
Doc understands
Takes my hand
Helps to quell my fears

Cross the floor
Through the door
Noisy waiting room
Corridor sounds
Smells abound
Somewhere sadness looms

Seatbelt on
Tears all gone
Afternoon D J
Kettle clicks
Make it quick
All is now ok
