I thought
I thought
I thought I saw you waving, from beneath our ‘Silver tree’,
I thought I saw you running, eagerly to me,
I thought I saw the brightest smile, that formed around your face,
I thought I saw your open arms, – ready to embrace.
I thought I saw your tender hand, ready to entwine,
I thought I saw your fingers, touching close to mine,
I thought I saw your blonded hair, that waved across your eye,
I thought I saw you kiss me, – I think you saw me cry.
I thought I heard you tell me, how much you loved me so,
I thought I heard you whisper, you would never let me go,
I thought I heard that promise, you made to me that day,
I thought that was forever, – until you went away.
And now I often visit, our sacred, ‘Silver tree’,
And I wait in patient silence, until your spirit comes to me,
And then again, ‘Two lovers’, are intertwined as one,
And the love we held beneath, ‘Our tree’, – forever does go on!
