Happy St Patrick’s Day
Happy St Patrick’s Day
Now the fairy folk are gathered on this St Patrick’s Day
To dance and sing together grant wishes being Fae
They’ve donned their gay apparel a sight tis to be seen
All shades and hues apparent in the wearin o’ the green
The cooks have been so busy preparing such a feast
Long tables full of vittles and libations brewed with yeast
The children play together amidst the gathered folk
There’s lots of hearty laughter as someone tells a joke
The fiddlers take their places to play a merry reel
A call to dance perhaps to sing depends on how they feel
This joyous celebration comes only once a year
To honour dear St Patrick to raise a glass and cheer
The Patron Saint of Ireland who explained the deity
He used the lowly shamrock to preach Christianity
Farewell to all the wee folk as they go along their way
Lets toast to one another on this St Patrick’s Day
