A poem for Valentine’s Day
If Love
Did that great architect of all life
In eons past, cast the runes
By the light of a thousand moons,
To give you to me
To be my wife.
To keep us as one
Through all these years
Through disappointment’s tears
Through our hopes
Through our fears.
By the light of the eternal sun.
To both play our parts
And the covenants of our hearts
Would remain forever entwined,
Eternal love forever defined.
