Just joined

I hope this is where I go to introduce myself. I live in Upstate NY, just a little south of Buffalo. I am 78 years old, live with my daughter, who built a little apartment onto her house for me to have some private time. I have been here for 13 years, and now that her to girls are teenagers, I have much more time on my hands, and in those years of minding the girls, had no chance to develop a friendship. I am a widow, and sometimes get very lonely and depressed, so here I am, anxious to start a chat with anyone.

Hello mom26, i just joined silversurfers after years of my children and friends telling me I need to "get out there". This is all new to me, I'm very private. I hope we both meet some nice people to chat with.

Hi mom26, looks like you have already got yourself a few new friends,be proud of yourself for getting on silver surfers. I have just joined myself,so we can learn how to navigate our way around the site.
I live in uk,married to my lovely husband Philip. Both retired,although the we have just returned from Egypt where we carry out aid work with our own charity. Our projects have been education and healthcare,multi faith based enabling children from poor and needy families the chance to gain an education.
We have both enjoyed our time in Egypt. I hope to hear from you .regards Brenda

Hi Mom26 how exciting to live in New York.I have visited twice and loved it although I got very upset to see space where the twin towers had been.A man was playing a lament on bagpipes and I couldn't stop my tears.I am a 77 year old widow with two sons and a beloved grandson and gorgeous granddaughter all of whom live a distance away so we keep in touch by Face Time.I can't say I get lonely but I feel alone at times so would be happy to chat anytime.

Hi mom26, hope you are well, we are a long way apart, I'm in south Yorkshire, Sheffield, England. I would love to communicate with you, I to am a widow, since 2010, took a while to sort myself out, but passed my driving test that year, and now love nipping about in my little Fiat. Last year I learned tocswim and started going to the gym twice a week, and also volunteer at my local library twice a week. Hope all that info doesn't overwhelm you, hope to hear from you soon,rubie
