September Wind

September Wind

The September wind caressed the trees they swayed as in a trance
To an enchanted melody inviting them to dance
The sun shone on fluttering leaves painting them with gold
Aspen and birch amongst the pines magnificent to behold

Groups of tree families busy in their day
Protecting birds and animals that might come their way
Offering resting places for winged and furry creatures
Oxygen generators with air filtering features

Trees is their thousands carpeting mountainsides
Descending into valleys where fowl and game abide
The wind changed it’s direction there was a crispness in the air
Almost overnight Fall was everywhere

A cornucopia of colour in shades of red and gold
scattered amongst the greens their vibrancy so bold
Mother Natures masterpiece a spectacular display
Heralding the inevitable Winter was on it’s way

When the deciduous sleeps among the evergreens
While the snow falls and creates a wonderland of scenes
