She’s always a Mother to you
This tribute to Mothers was written by Teresa Harrison-Best, and although sadly her mother passed away many years ago, she feels it’s always nice to remember her on Mother’s Day.
She’s always a Mother to you
She is the voice of reason,
the anchor in a storm.
She has that kind of magic
that makes you safe and warm.
She can reconcile your worries,
dispelling them for good.
She has a nose for danger,
seeing trees before the wood.
She can sooth a damaged ego,
with comfort from her words.
She offers tips and pointers,
for when you act absurd.
She has that certain icy look,
that stops you in your tracks.
She has no need to elucidate
as you’re clear of all the facts!
She can feed a hungry army
with hands behind her back.
She’ll rustle up a hoagie
or a tasty yummy stack.
She loves with total honesty,
accepting all your flaws.
She’s in that first division
along with Santa Claus.
She can turn her hand to anything,
a Jackie of all trades.
She’s worth her weight in solid gold,
with common sense in spades.
She deserves a special mention
and perhaps a card or two.
She’s really quite exclusive,
she’s always a mother to you.
