Do you think terms and conditions are fair?

The other night while browsing this website, I noticed a competition for a three-day holiday and thought I’ll have a look at this to enter. But upon looking at the terms and conditions there was no opt out from protecting my personal information. I give full credit to silversurfer website they clearly state they do not share any of your personal details with anybody else, but the company running it clearly states they are going to pass your details to other organisations and agents. which basically means you are going to get a lot of junk mail and cold calling on your telephone. I personally think that people have the right to protect their information and should have the right to opt out from letting companies share their details with other people. I personally wouldn’t have minded if the company running the competition had said we may send you offer’s of their holidays after all they have to get something out of offering a free holiday but do object to them passing my details onto other agents and organisations without my permission because basically I don’t know who they are? And I have no idea who they are going to pass my information too.

Hello Ameteureye ... I think your comment is very reasonable indeed. So much so, that I have forwarded your views to our Chief Executive. We will review this and revert to you as soon as possible. Best wishes, Sally
