Do you use Windows 8? How do you find it compared to Windows 7?

Windows 8.1 was better than 7 ---- BUT why are we concerned about those when W10 is available for free download to registered 7/8 users?
Provided your PC/laptop is not too old, Windows 10 knocks spots off earlier versions and is far more stable. I still use XP on my older server, but W10 on both laptops (upgraded from 8.1)

This may be a little out of context here, but I have always up until now only used an iPad to enter the forum.
Yesterday I tried logging in with a new self build PC using Windows 8.1. But every time I tried to click on the 'log in' button, a whacking great pop up ad appeared, deliberately obscuring the button to prevent me from doing so!
Then another pop up appeared, telling me, if I'm having trouble with pop ups, to call my ISP toll free, If I wanted to this to stop!
So I just went back to the 'small screen' I shall call my ISP tomorrow, but if they want to charge me for doing this I WILL change ISPs!
Has anyone else come across this?

Oh well! I guess that it must have been a temporary thing! As today when I tried to log in. I got in straight away, with no pop ups at all.

Windows 8 is a whole new experience - it is essential that you upgrade to Windows 8.1 (you will find this in the Apps store) it does restore Windows 8 back to the features we are all familiar with in Windows 7 and Windows XP. Having used Windows 8 for over a year, it is easy to navigate around - your friend is pointing your mouse into the top right corner of your screen and click 'settings' there you can find anything.

There is a lot of help online about using Windows 8 - use this rather than wasting your money on the many reference books now available
