My mind is like a playground
This poem written by Tracey Curtis puts into words what goes through her mind … perhaps fellow poets can identify with this?
MY MIND IS LIKE A PLAYGROUND
My little fingers hurt me
I’m writing everyday
Some times its hard to put in words
The things I want to say
There’s such a lot that’s going on
Inside my little head
I even dream about the words
When I’m a sleep in bed
My mind is like a playground
It’s a happy place to be
It’s a wonderland of magic
It’s the world of fantasy
A roller-coaster dream land
A fairground ride of fun
With chocolate tress and sugar bees
And candy coated sun
It’s like a secret doorway
To the world of make believe
Were dreams become reality
Sometimes its hard to leave
Although I am Dyslexic
My brain works really fine
I put the words together
To make my poems rhyme
It’s not that hard not really
It’s just music of the mind
I drift away on notes I play
And it helps me to unwind
There’s another world of wonder
Behind the eyes we see
It’s the mystery world of dreamers
And my world of poetry
