Log Off
Here is a very poignant poem written by Irene Kerr, who is now retired and enjoys writing poetry …
Log Off
We’re texting and tweeting our choice of greeting
To be social just find an app
No time for chatter on any matter
Need answers to questions – just tap
Go join ‘Facebook’ just take a look
How quickly your friend list will grow
By surfing the net addicted you’ll get
‘Liking’ people you don’t even know
Feeling just fine log on your ‘timeline’
Tell the world all ‘about you’
Reveal your location without reservation
No ‘privacy preference’ to do
No time to fritter join those on ‘Twitter’
Follow tweets throughout your day
With all this tapping there’ll be no need for napping
Work seems to get in the way
Sadly there’s no Utopia and a realistic phobia
Of internet trouble or strife
So turn down your ring tone or log off the iphone
Go outside and embrace life
