Just joined so I'm introducing myself.I am 51 and after recently joining the gym they made me aware of Silver Surfers. At first I felt like I'm not old enough for this but during the last couple of years I really believe you do start to change your way of viewing life and the World and after exploring I think this is such a great idea to meet like minded people. I have been mostly a stay at home mum my children are all grown now and I am grandma to one child. I have so much to give and found it quite difficult to find a job, nobody seems to want the over 50's. My life skills are so valuable and I feel a little like I'm on the scrap heap. I had my own florist shop a couple of years ago after qualifying as a florist three years ago but it was such hard work and of course the family didn't adapt to me working, so I had to continue taking care of everyone else as well as running a full time business. It's a very frustrating time in a woman's life where you don't really know where you belong? Advice, new friends, very welcome.ViewDate:

About SilversurfersIf you are ever looking for somebody that 'Has Been round the Block' aged 52 I recently joined Silver Surfers and I love what you do. If you ever have any jobs available i.e. social media management, posting, co-ordinating or sales I am your lady. I love what you stand for and am passionate about keeping people alive and interactive as they move into their fifties. With three grown up children and one grandchild I now have a lot of time on my hands and I have previously had my own flower shop and worked in a law firm as well as brought up three children. I have so much to offer, would love to offer an article about how hard it is for 50 plus women to get jobs after bringing up their family, armed with so many life skills, yet nobody seems to really want to employ you. I want to give confidence to those women like me, somebody they can relate to, it's a rat race out there right now. If you are not dynamic and YOUNG you don't really seem to matter. My job managing a household involved time management, people management, budgeting, driver, carer, educational support and yet don't understand why we don't have enough to offer at a later date. If you would like me to write an article I would absolutely love to. Kindest regards, Lynn Holloway www.natraheal.co.uk -
