Dementia Prevention Course: Your Roadmap to a Sharp MindVery timely - am considering the dementia course as both parents had this disease. I am coming up to 83 and diagnosed with Mild Cognitive Impairment, and would like to keep it mild or, better still but unlikely, improve.ViewDate:

Are you in favour of ‘digital IDs’?I'm elderly and, so far, fairly digitally 'with it' but only because I had to learn in order to keep myself employed. My husband, on the other hand, is not at all able to circumnavigate the digital world, and my heart sinks every time I confront it in everyday life - to the extent that I no longe shop in my nearest city (Bath) because I do not understand the digital parking signs and many people I know feel the same unless accompanied by someone younger, but not all of us have this option.ViewDate:

Do you feel confident overtaking HGV's on the motorway? There seem to be endless HGV's on the roads and if you can't face passing them then maybe it is time to consider giving up driving, though I realise only too well that this isn't always possible if you live in a village and need to bank, shop etc. in a nearby town. Just take your time and don't allow other road users to hassle you; but you ought also to be aware that it can be very irritating to be stuck behind someone travelling at 40mph on an A road.ViewDate:

Should wearing a face mask be compulsory in shops? It would seem obvious that anything stopping the trajectory of droplets - yours or theirs -is sensible whilst Covid is still around.ViewDate:

Is it realistic to expect over 70s to remain in their homes for 4 months? It’s an unrealistic ask. I have a husband who had an oesophageal cancer operation last year and of course we’ll do all we can (aged 78 and 80), but we’re both reasonably healthy. Even so we have very different interests and would probably go mad if we saw nobody else for 4 weeks, never mind 4 months!ViewDate:

Have you fallen victim to a scam?I've been caught TWICE and thought I knew how to evade them. I was caught when TSB were having problems and it was widely reported on the news that they were unable to deal with customers for the best part of a week. The first I knew was when my mobile phone provider sent a message to say my request to transfer my phone number to another provider was about to be actioned. I phoned immediately to say I hadn't actioned anything but they wouldn't stop it and it went ahead, quickly followed by two notifications of "speedy payments' made by TSB to two Arab-sounding names of he entire contents of our bank account and another of our overdraft facility (never used by us) - just pre-Christmas. The Bank would not answer their phone so I drove the 8 miles to our branch bank and they, too, couldn't get Head Office to pick up the phone for over 4 hours of constant ringing. I reported it to the Police, who also phoned me back about a year later to say they thought they had traced the perpetrators and did I still have the details, which I did - but I still never heard if they were caught. The bank did refund me the money but I also contacted the Ombudsman. I avoided the "overpayment of tax" scam, and regularly, daily in fact, get phone calls from abroad claiming to be from my phone provider. I simply put the phone down and try never to open an email from friends with 'no content'. It is rife everywhere. We were completely devastated for days afterwards.ViewDate:

Would you consider downsizing when you retire or have you already done so?Why downsize a) when its taken three quarters of your life to find the place you now live in and b) your children have children of their own and if they don't live nearby you need to be able to put them up. Also sorting through a life-times' possessions in your 80's, recycling etc. is exhaustingly hard work.ViewDate:

Do you think the tactics of Extinction Rebellion are justified?Since when were we all held to account by a bunch of teenagers joined by masses of people with nothing to do? Sure they have a point but the UK is doing better than most. How much plastic do they have in their own homes and how do they all travel to cities to cause the havoc they doViewDate:
